Death is a part of life. It is hard to lose someone close to us. The parishes offer their prayers for the faithful departed and for the families of the departed. Funerals help us to go through the grieving process: remembering the deceased, entrusting their soul to our almighty Father, and saying our last goodbyes.
When someone dies, the funeral home typically will contact the parish. Fr. Davis likes to meet with the family at the funeral home to plan the funeral. The parish will provide music, servers (unless family has some available), and help with the luncheon.
Please note: Eulogies at the funeral are not allowed. A good place to give a Eulogy is at the Vigil (Wake) Service the night before, or some time during the Visitation time the day before the Funeral. Fr. Davis is strict on this rule. Unfortunately, there are no exceptions.
