Catholic Daughters of the AmericasCourt St. Mary #512
Mission Statement:
Catholic Daughters of the Americas strives to embrace the principles of faith working through love in the promotion of justice, equality, and theadvancement of human rights and human dignity for all mankind.
Purpose: The purpose of the organization is to participate in the religious, charitable, and educational Apostolates of the Church. Motto: Unity and Charity History: The Knights of Columbus founded the Catholic Daughters in 1903 as its counterpart group for women. Our court’s anniversary date is June 27th, 1920. Who Can Join? Catholic Daughters is open to all lay and religious women 18 years of age or older who love and support the Church and wish to participate in social and charitable activities. A membership form is filled out to join. Just simply ask any current member or come to any meeting to see what we do. Why Join? The Catholic Daughters is a great way to meet new people, grow together spiritually, and support one another in life’s celebrations, and challenges. We believe that CDA also stands for: Can Do Anything! Together we have been able to help so many local families that have needed support during a difficult time. Whereas standing alone, that would not have happened. Meetings: Our court meets 10 times a year. We meet at 7:00 pm on the 2nd Monday of the month. We begin a new year in September and end our program year in June. There are no meetings in July or August. In January we pay a yearly dues, currently it is $25. You may live outside of the Greene area and still join our court. Websites: Iowa website: www.iowacatholicdaughters.org National website: www.Catholicdaughter.org
